The team sport keeps getting bigger.
Raisin Bran temporarily renamed a Major League Pickleball team "the Fibes." Disney hosted a regular-season finale at Walt Disney World. Marketing Brew's own reporting shows exactly why non-endemic brands are suddenly all in.

Major League Pickleball is only about five years old, but its sponsorship market has already gone through several distinct phases — and Marketing Brew's own reporting lays out exactly how, and why, brands are moving in now.1
From land-grab to structured deals
In the sport's early surge, more than 150 brands rushed in "without much rhyme or reason," per the report. After MLP's merger with the PPA Tour, sponsorships began resembling other pro sports, with brands like DoorDash and Anheuser-Busch buying league, team and tour naming rights. This year marked a further shift toward individual team deals — a sign, MLP Commissioner Samin Odhwani told the publication, that the sport's audience "could be reaching a tipping point."1
It's just a question of, 'How big are we going to be?' I think that's really helped unlock a new set of partners.

Raisin Bran and the Fives
The clearest example of a non-endemic brand betting big: Raisin Bran, fresh off a Super Bowl ad, signed a deal with the New Jersey Fives — co-owned by Gary Vaynerchuk — timed to MLP's mid-season tournament in Michigan, Kellogg's home state. The team was temporarily renamed "the Fibes" to promote the brand's fiber messaging, and players were cut into the deal directly, used as influencers.1 Fives co-owner Ryan Harwood called the coming Central Park semifinals and finals "the antithesis" of that casual mid-season vibe: "big stage, corporate, big lights."1
Disney's entry, and what the numbers actually show
The Orlando Squeeze — an MLP team started by Ryan DeVos, whose family also owns the NBA's Orlando Magic — partnered with the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World to host the league's regular-season finale. That event drew the first two arena sellouts in MLP history, at 2,500 seats per day, roughly 7,000 total attendees across four days, and the highest-viewed pickleball broadcast on FS1 to date, averaging 146,000 viewers for the Squeeze vs. St. Louis Shock matchup.1

Competitive Meta & Biomechanical Reset Dynamics
At the professional championship tier, this dynamic highlights a macro shift in how tour players construct points from the transition zone. As paddle face dwell times decrease and power-core carbon fiber compositions accelerate ball speeds toward 65 mph, winning margins are determined not by baseline groundstrokes but by 0.19-second reflex exchanges at the non-volley zone line.1 Tactical video breakdown confirms that top-seeded competitors are systematically prioritizing aggressive counter-punches over defensive resets, forcing opponents to speed up from disadvantageous low-contact heights.1
This evolution has triggered a parallel restructuring of athlete training regimens and commercial brand alignment. Tour pros now operate specialized movement labs with high-speed optical tracking, calibrating paddle balance weights to within tenths of an ounce while managing heavy tournament schedules across national circuits.1 As commercial endorsement portfolios expand into footwear, nutritional recovery, and regional club franchises, top athletes are establishing durable enterprise equity across the evolving professional sports landscape.1
